When you’re stuck in a hole, may I suggest you beg to differ with yourself?
During one of my “trips” a few years ago, I wrote the piece below. I had to convince myself that what I heard myself saying and saw myself doing was not who I was created to be.
After I had written it, I read it out loud, and it helped me release the negative mindset that I planted in my being.
And guess what? It worked! I climbed out that hole only because I decided to beg to differ with myself.
Go on, girl. Read it out loud now.
Stop.
Wait a minute.
Why are you doing that?
It’s not good for you.
It stunts your growth.
And it’s not helping you get out of that hole.
As a matter of fact, it’s making you dwell there.
Live there…
Look at yourself.
Do you see that?
Listen to yourself.
Do you hear that?
What you see and what you hear…
Is that really you?
What if you begged to differ with yourself?
What if you stopped doing that?
- That thing that’s not good for you.
- That thing that stunts your growth.
- That thing that keeps you in that hole.
Your dwelling place, really?
What if you looked at yourself and saw exactly who you are?
And better yet, exactly who you were created to be?
What if you spoke the truth about you?
What if you changed so that you could be you?
You know. The real you.
So beg to differ yourself.
But don’t wait a minute.
Do it now.
Please.
How would you benefit if you begged to differ with yourself occasionally? I wanna know. Drop me a line in the comments or on the GoneGirlGo Facebook page. For a more private exchange email me at
